Cedar Lake From the Kayak
12"x9" Watercolor on 140 lb Cold Press Paper
This painting is of an iconic scene from my kayak on the north side of Cedar Lake in the Shawnee National Forest. I always know I have reached the big beautiful bluffage when I see this rocky shoreline and one lone tree standing tall above the water. When you round the corner, you are greeted by gorgeous tall bluffs and a calm, pristine part of the lake with a couple places to pull off, enjoy the view, and swim when the water levels are right.
From the Kayak
With this series of paintings, I put the viewer in the kayak seat. These are meant to be viewed from the perspective of the kayak, so please view with the boat centered to you. My goal here is to celebrate the beauty in Southern IL that can only be seen from a kayak or boat. We are surrounded by a rich amount of interesting lakes, creeks, and rivers to paddle. Kayaking is a fun way to improve mental and physical health. I find myself most at peace when I am on my boat.
The painting will be matted by the artist for protection prior to shipping, but framing is not included. If you would like to add framing, please add "Original Artwork Framing Add-On" as a product to your cart. If you have very specific matting or framing requirements, email [email protected] or fill out the contact form on my website to discuss options before placing your order.
