Sunset at Sea

"14 x 10" Gouache on 140 lb Cold Press Paper

In this painting, I wanted to capture the light that remains after the sun dips over the horizon and everything is blanketed in shadows except for the beautiful colors left by the sunset. "Sunset at Sea" was featured in the Convergence exhibition in August 2024 at the Logan Gallery in Murphysboro, IL along with a collection of my work. This exhibition was curated by Luca Cruzat and sponsored by the Oak Street Art Association.

Whimsical Horizons
In this series of gouache paintings, I created exaggerated skies and experiment with different aspects of water. I studied its reflective quality, the movement of the waves, the sun sparkling on the water, the light refraction in clouds, different stages of the sun going down, and the day turning to night. I chose gouache for this series because of its vibrancy and layering capabilities.

The painting will be matted by the artist for protection prior to shipping, but framing is not included.
